When is the tournament? It is Saturday, May 14th 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
How much is it? The early bird cost for each team registered is $140.00 and is due at time of online registration. Each participant and one coach will receive free entry into the entire 2016 Life & Leisure Expo.
What does a team get for the registration? We would provide a three game minimum tournament. Each game is two 12 minutes halves. Each team will receive 7 ‘player’ fun bags which will include a water bottle and t-shirt if possible and depending on sponsors.
Is there a limit on number of teams? We are offering three divisions – Novice (7-8), Atom (9-10) and Pee Wee (11-12) each with their own “rink”. A maximum of 5 teams per division will allow for two 12 minute halves, three game guarantees. The first games start at 10 AM and conclude with the championship finals for each category at 5:30 pm.
Where is the tournament being held? It will be played on the West side of the Agrena, under the “Spruce Grove Saints” logo. This will occur during the 2016 Life & Leisure Expo that is offering free water stations, budget and family friendly food concessions, Zender Ford Reptile Encounters, Thistle Hills Petting Zoo, Inflatable Playground, Carnival Games, Save on Foods Waffle Cook Off, Ronald McDonald Dance Competition and Magic Show, Appearances from “Spidey” and “Elsa”, an entertainment Main Stage hosted by 88.1 the One live on location, and a plethora of activities to do in between games.
Who can register? Anyone between the ages of 7 and 12 on teams (Novice, Atom, Pee Wee in 2015/16 season) can register a team with at least one “coach” over 18 years of age. You won’t need the full roster at registration, but we do need the rosters provided by May 11th for the form pick up. All players on each team must be in the same age category.
How many players per team? Each team can register 7 players (two lines of three and a goalie) who will play in full goalie gear. The minimum players is 3 (one forward line and one goalie). Players are required to wear hockey helmets and gloves, goalies will be in full goalie gear. Each team is encouraged to have matching t-shirts – custom made, just matching, actual jerseys, or anything that makes it a “team” look.
What is the game area like? Asphalt parking lot, with temporary fencing for each of three rinks (approximate size is 50’ x 80’).
